Video Capture Of Screen From VB NOT using Microsoft Encoder

I have used the Microsoft Encoder it pretty much kills the underlying
applications while recording. The mouse and keystroke movements are
choppy and annoying. I’ve tried this on many machines and actually
programmed a whole application using it. Tried all sorts of settings
and it doesnt make a difference. I believe screen capture was an
afterthought.

I am not happy with the result and I am looking for an alternative.

Maybe a COM object I could purchase thats efficient or even sope open
source stuff. Anyone ever use VNC? I would want to capture to some file
playable back by WIndows Player if possible.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

advice on buying card

I desire to play a dvd disk, capture a frame into my computer, & then
convert the frame into a jpeg, tif, or similar format.   Also, if
possible, watch tv on my computer.

Can anyone suggest the least expensive card that would do this?

all info welcomed!

Filter and/or effects suggestions to fix a

I have some film of a play where because of a spotlight and the canned
stage lighting the subjects on the stage are blown out white from a
distance. In some spots you can’t even see their faces, just a white
hot spot. Does anyone know of an effect to help soften or eliminate the
white hot spots? Thanks!

DVD to ipod conversion

I am trying the Lenogo conversion software – several DVD conversions
resulted in stutering audio and video when played on my iPod – anyone that’s
familiar with this product have any suggestions about what settings I need
to change? THANKS!

What else besides the Sony DCR-TRV480for converting HI-8 and 8mm to digital?

I was thinking about using my capture board with my old camcorder for
this, but in an earlier thread someone suggested I’d get better results
using a digital 8 camcorder like the Sony DCR-TRV480 to convert the old
tapes. However, this model is hard to find as its been discontinued, so
I am wondering what other models out there are capable of hi8
playback/conversion?

TIA!
