Canon GL2

Just purchased the Canon GL2.
I have as yet to put tape through it. I will test it this week end.
However I was wondering the pros and cons of this camera from you folks out
there?
Yours,
Tom

How can I copy files from a CPRM-protected DVD-RW recorded on a Pioneer DVR-220S DVD-recorder?

Hi all,

How can I remove CPRM-protection from a DVD-RW????

I made my first recordings using a Maxell DVD-RW,  with my brand new
Pioneer DVR-220S DVD-R recorder.

Now I want to ripp the files from the disk and edit and author the
material with my PC to a DVD+R.
But this CPRM-protection is keeping me away from my own recordings!
What the heck is going on here?

I’ve tried (almost) everything: making an ISO file from the DVD-RW
with DVD Decrypter to HD, viewing that ISO with ISOBuster, I can see
the files, but I can’t copy them, why I don’t know, the program is
fully registered and paid for, it must be that CPRM that keeps me from
my own files.

I was (probably) wrong to buy 3 CPRM protected DVD-RW’s, I did not
notice, I always use DVD+R disks with my DVD-NEC2510 burner on my PC.
But now I have to buy DVD-R because Pioneer won’t accept DVD+R, and
now this CPRM creeps up.
I will buy in the future DVD-RW,s *without* CPRM! If they even exist.

Please, help me find a way to get my files of those CPRM disks.

I think this whole CPRM is a bad idea, nice for extra protection on
DVD-movies, maybe, but not for normal home use.

TIA!

William.

Nero .nrg file more than 700MB

Hi,

Using "Copy Disk" function the .nrg image is around 800MB whicj cannot
fit onto a 700MB CD-R. The original disk is a VCD. Is there any way to
burn this image to CD-R?

Thanks,
Sameer

Tmpgenc 2.5 vs. Tmpgenc 2.5 PLUS

I’ve already used the free one for a couple of things, I like it.

Is there any reason I should consider the $37 "PLUS" version?  What are
the differences, I couldn’t figure it out from their website.

oh, there’s also a 3.0 Express it seems, that costs a bit more than the
2.5+

What does it all mean?

what software can do these things?

I need to edit a mpeg4 file:
  * shorten it
  * possibly normalize the volume
  * probably convert to mpeg2
and then burn it onto a Video CD, so it can be watched on both PCs and DVD
players. (I was told reasonably recent DVD players can accept CD-Rs)

What PC software can do these things for me? I would prefer freeware or
trialware, because this is probably just one time that I need this.

Thanks!

TMPGEnc 3.0 XPress & 4.7GB Disk

Hello,
I downloaded the trial version of "TMPGEnc 3.0 XPress" this week. I have 4
DivX Files (Total Time: 2 Hrs, 47 Mins 47 Secs) to burn to a DVD.

I set the whole thing going and it took a whopping 10 hours to complete the
process. Imagine my distrees when I came to burn the files onto a DVD.

TSUNAMI-MPEG DVD is stating that a disk of 5.6GB is required (my burner will
only make 4.7GB Disks). I looked through the TMPGEnc Wizard AGAIN, but
cannot see where I went wrong.

Could anyone offer any help? I’m a bit loathed to run through 10 hours of
waiting for it to be "wrong".

TIA
Stephen

All Video Capture progs the same?

I captured several MiniDV tapes with NeroVision Express in order to
transfer them to DVD. I was not impressed with the quality of the DVDs
produced with NeroVision, so now I want to use Pinnacle Studio 9. Is
the quality of the video I captured with NeroVision the same as that of
Pinnacle Studio 9? I captured just one tape with Pinnacle Studio and
the resulting file has about the same size as that of NV (~13GB). I
wouldn’t like to go back and capture all the tapes over again.

thanks
