Vegas Video 5.0 convert .RM to MPEG2?

Will Sony Vegas 5.0 convert .rm files to mpeg2 for DVD burning?

Will it convert Xvid to mpeg2 for DVD burning?

Will it convert DivX to mpeg2 for DVD burning?

And – anyone know of any good tutorial sites for DVD Architect 2.0
(videohelp.com has only 1.0) and Sony Vegas 5?  I would like to see how
the work and get an idea of their use (intuitive or not).
Thanks,

Tmuld.

Video Wave 7 encoding problems

This is a repost- I did not see it appear to the group first time.

Anyway, I am trying to use Roxio’s Video Wave 7.  I can capture fine,
edit fine, but have a problem when trying to burn a disk.  I get
everything set up (menus, etc.).  Then, when I click on burn, it seems
to hang.  The progress bar shows it doing ‘step 1′ very rapidly.  Then
it goes to step 2, and hangs.  I’ve let it run for hours, and nothing
shows on the progress bars.  It says it is ‘encoding file’.  I assume
this means it is converting to mpeg.

I have terminated the program with task manager, and it often says
"program waiting for user input".  There is no user input that I am
aware of at this point.  I thought at first it was low memory (I have
512M, and an integrated graphics chip that uses 64M of system ram.
However, I tried running the task manager performance utility that
shows a graph of memory and CPU usage, and it doesn’t seem like the
memory usage is hitting the stops.
Anyone familiar with Video Wave 7 and having similar problems?

Calling "King" Ghidora

Hey King – did you eventually work out your DVD problem? We are all
hanging on what the "rest of the story" is.

frame serving in premiere 6.5 uses CPU time

I’m frame-serving in Premiere 6.5 to TMPGEnc to render in VCD.  There’s
no rendering necessary in Premiere (the footage is simply the raw input
with 15 minutes in the beginning deleted).  But when I look at the CPU
usage, I see 55% utilization by TMPGEnc and 35% by Premiere.

My question is, what’s Premiere doing that requires significant CPU
utilization?  I thought it’s just passing frames to the video server…

What compression is used when first capturing with Pinnacle Studio 8?

When you first make a capture with Pinnacle Studio, what compression format
does it use? I don’t see any option anywhere to change it.

Import DVD content into Studio 9

I received a DVD with a family movie. I now want to import it into
Studio 9 and do some more editing before I burn a new DVD of the
modified content.
How do I do that?

What is 3D Digital Noise Reduction?

My DVD Recorder offers 3D Digital Noise Reduction.
There is no detail in the manual about this feature and the setting.

Can someone please tell me what this is and how I would use it?

Help. Problems exporting analog files from premiere to avi.

I’m new to video editing and I’ve noticed that when I export an anolog
captured video from premiere to an avi file or to dvd, the video looks
choppy when theres medium to fast panning. I don’t have this issue with
digital video or photos though. I also tried exporting the same file
from Pinnacle Studio to a dvd to compare the two and the dvd from
Pinnacle comes out looking just like the actual analog video should
look, smooth and not digitally chopped up. Is this a common issue or
are their ways to fix this? Can you use Pinnacle’s encoder to use with
Premiere 1.5? Any answers would help, thanks!

Tsunami video

A bit shaky, but simply amazing clip.  Almost no time to react.
Looks like two or three main waves, one on top of another,
each one instantly raising sea level about 10′ or so:
